That the moon isn't cheese. In ancient times, apparently a lot of earthlings thought that when they looked at the moon, it was made of cheese. This is a romantic idea, just like the man in the moon, when the American lunar landings begin, in the early seventies of the last century, which everyone with a television set can follow live in the Netherlands in those days.

I remember a holiday, one of the last, with my parents in the south of France, where we were invited by local artists who are friends of my stepmother's girlfriend, in whose cottage we are staying, that that evening is a topic of discussion. I am very surprised that evening, that the artists, who are quite old enough to have some talent for reflection, think this is a serious topic of discussion. The idea that there is a male living in the moon is motivated by the visibility from the earth of some large craters (about which another time more), which are slightly darker colors seen from here, than the soft yellow light that reflects the moon, and together seem to form a smiling face in the moon. This, the craters and the soft yellow light, also makes people think the moon is made of cheese.

What I find very unfortunate is that I find out, when I want to write about it, that wolves don't really cry to the moon. It seems so, but there is no substantial, deeper connection. Once again, research has shown that wolves are very social animals and live in packs (groups), not really like the dark, which means that they by crying they seek contact with other nearby pack. When it begins to shine they cry. Crying is their language, with which they can express their emotions, such as cocks crows in the morning. I've seen cocks outside, near my bed, react to the crows of other cocks, who were audibly living far away.

It is also undeniable that my previous blog about Moon goddesses could fit into this list.
